Sailing and Snorkeling The Whitsundays

A 42 foot catamaran, Illusions, and its Captain, Joseph, took six of us and gave us a glimpse of The Whitsundays.  It took two hours to get to the Great Barrier Reef and we snorkeled off one of the islands and then a sandbar.  The day was fabulous!  We saw large grouper, sea turtles, colorful coral, and many species of fish.  I would love to spend some time sailing and living on a boat.  I have always love these types of excursions.

We snorkeled off the beach.  Two from our party tried their hand at diving.

The beach had coral instead of sand.

                                        A delicious lunch after snorkeling.

Catching a bit of sleep in the shade of the sail.
