Much Valued Oasis

The outback is housed with pitstops called Roadhouses.  They are an oasis that provides fuel, a convenience store, restaurant, bar, motel rooms, the occassional shady spot to park, campsites, and a few had swimming pools.  For us, they were a godsend.  It was good to get out of the vehicle to stretch, gas up, have lunch,and cool down in the air conditioned buildings.  At the end of the driving day we looked for one to stay at with our camper van.
