Thief!!

After a few days at Canoa we sadly departed on the bus to Puerto Lopez which is further south down the coast.  We were told that thieves ride the buses and you need to be aware at bus terminals.  Our seats were second from the back, and a young Ecuadorian man sat behind us.  Feeling unwell, I made myself warm, and comfortable, and tried to get some sleep.  So the chair went back, and after a while Hoss got some shuteye, also.  But, shortly thereafter, he realized his day backpack wasn´t where he placed it, and it was very light when he picked it up.  Rising out of his seat he confronted the young man behind us.  He had a few of the bag´s items strewn around him.  Hoss grabbed him by his shirt collar threatening to get the police.  That was enough for him to allow Hoss to look through his bag retrieving all the money he had stolen.  He then pushed his way to the front of the bus wanting to exit.  We throughly checked Hoss´s bag and all the retrieved money to make sure everything was there.  The thief only wanted money, and he had a good chunk of ours before he was found out!  In the end, the thief left empty handed and our bags were kept on our laps for safe keeping!
