Quito Ecuador

Quito sits high in the Andes at an altitude of 2850 m.  It is packed with historical monuments and architectural treasures.  It has been designated as a Unesco World Heritage Site.  It is a dynamic city of 1.8 million people, with many interesting neighbourhoods.  It is a collection of Spanish, Moorish, and Indigenous influences.  We have enjoyed our time here, and only wish we could have seen more of the surrounding area.  I guess we will leave some sites for the next we decide to visit Ecuador.  We now head south for Banos, a small town, which is a three hour bus ride through volcano avenue.
