Baños

The setting of Baños is amazing!  From the town, you can see waterfalls, hike through lush forests, rest your body in thermal springs, hike impossible gorges, bike, boat all the way to the Amazon, whitewater raft, climb the active volcano,Volcan Tungurahua, bungy jump, quad, kayak, horseback ride.  This is an adreline junkies paradise!!  This town of 15 000 people sits on a plateau of a mountain.  In the gorge below it, a river runs by, and after a rain it swells and flows more violently.  There are many hostels, restaurants, pastry and coffee shops .  The town is busy with tourists and people catering to tourists.  We quite liked Baños and its energic vibe.
