Big Ralphs in Salinas, Ecuador

We gradually worked our way down the coast of Ecuador.  Our last beach stop was Salinas.  Big Ralphs was recommended to us by our friend.  It is just off the boardboard a couple of blocks.  Ralph and Andrea were wonderful hosts.  They run a restaurant and small hostal, and the food is to die for. Ralph is an accomplished chef from England, and his wife is from Ecuador.  Our room was bright, cheerful, and clean.

                                           A fabulous breakfast!!

                                            Ralph's kitchen mate.

                                            Dining room.

                                         Courtyard for the hostal.

These tables are all over Ecuador.  They are cut from
                                            gigantic native trees.

A fish and chip supper.  Yummy!!
Ralph and Andrea are growing trees in the back and have plans on making a garden for their guests.  I found this tiny hummingbird nest in one of the trees.
