Wieliczka Salt Mine of Poland

The history of Wieliczka Salt Mine dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was named the Great Salt. In the 13th century it was known as the largest source of salt in Poland and over the years it became crucial for the country's economy.

The Wieliczka salt mine has produced salt from the 13th century until 2007, as one of the world's oldest salt mines. Due to falling salt prices and mine flooding this site has discontinued its production. The mine is now a Polish Historic Monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Horses were brought down into the mine to haul salt loads. Once they were here the horses never saw the light of day again. They lived, worked, ate, and rested in the mine.

This hall is located in the salt mine. It is rented for a variety of functions such as meetings, concerts, Christmas parties to weddings. If you need a venue, then here it is.
