Melk Abbey

Melk Abbey is a Benedictine abbey that lies on a rocky outcrop above the town of Melk, Austria, overlooking the Danube River. Since 1089, the Benedictine monks have been living and working here.  It is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are only 25 or so monks left living here. Some of the abbey's space is dedicated to a private day school for children.
