Hot Springs/Flight to San Jose, Costa Rica

After touring around Boquete, we spent some around the Baru(caldera) hot springs.  The walk to the hot was very interesting.  A rocky path lead the way.  They were shallow and not too heavy with the scent of minerals.  We then cooled off in the near by river.

We also found some very interesting trees.  Insects have made odd shapes on the trees that look like spikes.  These spikes are extremely pointed and sharp.

Our Flight to Costa Rica

The David Airport makes the Regina airport look large!!  Your luggage is physically checked, and they made us buy a return ticket to Panama which was totally unnecessary (it was promptly cancelled once we arrived in Costa Rica).  Our flight was delayed by five hours because of a mechanical difficulty but a free meal was offered to each passenger due to the delay.

Finally, we were set to go and our small 50 passenger plane took off.  The beginning of the flight was extremely turbulent, but as we gained altitude the ride smoothed out.  We quickly made our way to San Jose were we met the Sousbys, got into our hired van and our driver got us safely to Jaco.  We found the Condominium Nasua (our lodgings) booked in and then settled in.

It is a very nice place.  I did have to get the housekeeper to do a bit of extra cleaning, which she kindly did, but she also showed me were the mop was and how to use it (ha, ha, ha)!!  I guess she doesn't clean the kitchen, which is totally fine by us.

The grounds surrounding our condo are heavy with vegetation.  Many birds, butterflies, geckos, and iguanas
can be seen all day long.  It is a comfortable place and I know we will enjoy our stay.
