Playa Quieta

We discovered a little gem of a beach! I remember this beach with fond memories of when we sat here with our boys when we were traveling in our motorhome. It feels like home!

Playa Quieta claims to be an inclusive beach for all people of varying disabilities.

The Rellies Are Here!

Hoss's cousin, Glenda, and her hubby, Fred, arrived in Ixtapa for a vacation. We were able to get together and meet up for lunch and a couple of beer. We had a great visit!

Chairs and Umbrellas

We hop on our small scooter packed with a backpack, two foldable chairs, an umbrella, and head off to the beach! Set for the afternoon!

Zihua Bay Views

We took a drive with Claude and Lynne to check out sights, then the next day on our own with our scooter.

Taking the old road from Zihuatanejo to Ixtapa.

Noria area of Zihua, the west side of the bay.

                                         A family enjoying the water.

Work on the new pier is coming along nicely.

Walking The Rocks to Playa Las Gatas

Playa Las Gatas is the beach at the far end in Zihua Bay. To get there, we usually take a water taxi, but today we decided to walk the rocky path. Many people walk this route, so it isn't something new or novel, but it was for us. We parked by the rocks, walked the path, which was fairly easy, even in flip flops. Hoss spotted a large tarantella, but by the time I readied my camera, the furry little creature found itself a hiding spot. Quite interesting! We looked for the large spider on the return trip but it was nowhere to be found.

Pictures are: Claude, Lynne, Hoss, and a random couple from Saskatoon who joined us on the walk.

Don't fall on these prickly little sea urchins!

Saying Hello to New Friends, and Goodbye to Our Good Friend

Coco, the house cat, where we are staying at Villa Encantada, has adopted us! He greets us every morning, sneaks into our suite every chance he gets, sleeps on the bead, cuddles, and loves pets! We kind of like him too!

                                         Coco, the cutie!

We met Brian last week, and he plays at a beach bar every Thursday evening, so we thought we would go and listen to him and the band he plays with. I guess he is quite famous in his field and is considered an international recording artist.

                                          Brian Russell

And today we said goodbye to our good friend, Correen, as her week long visit has come too quickly to an end, but she has other adventures coming her way! See you in the spring Correen, and we'll share more travel stories!

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a beach south of Zihua located very near the airport. We spent a quiet afternoon in the shade of a palapa roof, playing crib, and drinking lime water, and beer. Soooo relaxing!

Lynne setting up for a raging game of crib!

                                           Kilometers of sand

The restaurant we sat at has a refreshing pool.

The drive home from Playa Blanca to Zihua revealed many interesting sites.

An interesting piece of art made with bits of recyclables and plastics.

I love the landscape in this area! So pretty!
