King Street, Newtown

There is a quaint street very close by to where we are staying.  It is in the suburb of Newtown, and the street is called King. It has a variety of restaurants that meets everyone's taste.  No franchises are found here, everyone is independant!!  One such restaurant we found is called Lentils As Everything.  It is vegetarian, and each meal is made from lentils.  There are 4 dishes everyday to choose from, and each day the menu is different.  The only paid employees are the chef, the sous chef, and the floor manager, the rest of the kitchen staff and servers work for free, and proceeds go to feed the hungry.  No prices are provide for the meals, you pay what you think the meal is worth.  I have heard of this concept before in Vancouver. I had the Spicey Greek Stew and Hoss had the Spaghetti Bolognese, both were very good.  Seating is communal, and entertainment is provided.  The place was extremely busy!  Great experience!
