Diamond Head Crater

We rented a vehicle which makes things a whole lot easier to explore the island.  Our first trip took us to Diamond Head Park.  It is a volcanic crater that has seen no action in a long time!!  The parking lot is situated at the bottom of the crater.  The path you follow takes you to the top of the crater, and you are  rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view of the ocean and Honolulu.  It is a bit of a walk, but anyone can accomplish it from small children to old grannies.  I did it in my flip flops which isn't the brainiest thing I've ever done!!  It was a great excursion!
