Gardens By The Bay, Singapore

Gardens By The Bay is a nature park spanning 250 acres of reclaimed land in the center of Singapore. This park is part of a strategy by the government of Singapore to transform Singapore from a "Garden City" to a "City in a Garden". The aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city.

These are called super trees, there are twelve of them and the tallest one is 16 storeys in height. In the evening the trees come alive with a light and sound show. Eleven of the super trees are embedded with environmentally sustainable functions like photovoltaic cells to harvest solar energy. Each tree consists of 4 parts: a reinforcement concrete core, trunk, planting panels for the living skin and canopy.

Plants grow on the super trees.
