La Botella de Leche Hostel, Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Tamarindo is a laid back surfing town that caters to young and old!  If you are into sportfishing, diving, snorkeling, hiking or ecotourism you can different tours to suit your needs.  The beach is spacious, and dotted with small restaurants and beach bars. Leatherback turtles can be found nesting on Playa Grande between the months of October to May.  When we were here 20 years ago with our boys we were fortunate to see a mamma leatherback dig a metre deep hole, lay about 80 eggs, bury them with her huge flippers, and make her way back to the ocean!  It was an awesome experience.

Our accommodations in Tamarindo are very comfortable!  We are enjoying this hostel very much! The people staying here are from all over the world and are of varying ages.  Quiet time starts at 11pm so there are no loud parties going on.  Everyone is respectful of each other.  The owners are a young Canadian/Argentinian couple who bought this place three years ago.  Different events are held throughout the week.  One night they had a barbeque, Saturday night they will host a party with sushi, shooters, happy hour, beerpong and a DJ.
