We rented a car and decided to take a trip. But, before we arrived at our first destination of Morelia, Michoacan, our journey took us through a variety of landscapes and sights. We left the lush, tropical beachiness of Zihuatanejo, and followed the road that passed by rivers and lakes that gradually gave way to more arid mountainous landscapes where the cacti grow in abundance. The climb was slow and steady, and we knew we were gaining some altitude because our ears were frequently plugged. Pines started showing up, but the temperature was still very warm. With a drier climate farmland started appearing, alongside with orchards. After 4 1/2 hours of traveling we finally arrived at our destination, the beautiful, historic city of Morelia.
And just when you think you can relax for a bit, this happens, and shortly after this someone decides to pass us on the shoulder!
