Riverstone

Just a short drive north of Oamaru is an interesting place called Riverstone. It encompasses a restaurant, gardens, children's playground, caged exotic birds, a handful of shops that sell gift items, and a castle with a moat included that has been in the making for the last four years and is soon to be completed. This complex is owned by a couple who have been very successful in the dairy industry. We didn't stay for a meal but I hear the food is delicious.
