The Papagayo Peninsula is located on the north Pacific coast of Costa Rica, and is in the northwest province of Guanacaste. It is located in the Golfo de Papagayo and was formed by volcanic activity and weather. It is a popular tourist destination for Costa Rican residents and foreigners. There are 31 beaches, a marina, golf course, luxury homes, fancy resorts, and new developments in the works. There is a government mandate that dictates 70% of the land in the Peninsula Papagayo remain natural ensuring that the beauty of the land is not lost on over development.
