I love having our scooter because we have the freedom to go where we want, when we want. We are able to see so many other places, and investigate backside streets to discover little gems of restaurants or places to stay. But, I have to admit it can be quite terrifying!! Not the backside streets, but the traffic and crazy drivers!! Sometimes I just tuck in all my limbs, close my eyes and let Hoss wheedle his way through the congestion of traffic, and the occurrence of the unexpected! On the beach one afternoon we met a couple from Edmonton who have been coming to Thailand for the last 13 years, and said they would never drive here! Many foreigners can be seen with bandaged up limbs from crashing their bikes, which is often referred to as Phuket tattoos!!
This beach is called Nai Harn and is about 20 minutes south of Kata.
Sa Nui is a small beach further south of Nai Harn. We spent some time at this beach two years ago when we were with Geno and Glenda.
There is very little shade at this beach and there are no umbrella rentals. After an hour or so we felt like a roasted duck!
