Fremantle

Fremantle is a funky little city of about 27,000 people.  It lies on the mouth of the Swan River about 30 minutes south of Perth and is a major port city in Western Australia. It is a popular spot to visit for both locals from the Perth area and tourists.  Its more common vernacular is Freo.

This is a memorial for all the fishermen who were lost at sea.

It's getting to the end of our trip, so one last walk in the Indian ocean.

This building is called the Roundhouse.  It was used to house prisoners while the Fremantle Prison was being built.

We were not quite sure what this was used for.  Maybe it was a place to wash hands back in the day.
