Santorini Walk

The Fira to Oia 10km walk/hike was a highlight of ours during our stay in Santorini. It took us through the small villages of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigil, and Oia, and along the caldera cliff. It is said the walk can take between 2 and 5 hours, depending on how fast you walk and how often you stop. We made it to Oia in 3.25 hours.

One side of the island is cliffy, the other side is flat.

This small church is 170 years old.

The older gentleman by the window says this church has been in his family for generations, and every July 22 there is a celebration with a church service and food consisting of fish, olives and tomatoes, with 500 people in attendance.

                             We stopped for a lemonade.

If you get worn out there is always the donkey option!

Santorini is similar to Mykonos with all their little churches.

                                  Our destination...Oia, just about there.

Entering Oia, there are accommodations on both sides of the pathway.

We found a restaurant, sat down, ordered food and 2 beers, and when finished we then hopped on the bus to go back to Fira!
