Every year Sailfest, who raises funds to help improve education for under privelged students, puts on a chili cookoff. Our friends, Claude and Tim, entered and cooked their hearts out! Their chili was delicious and the bonus was a shot of tequila with every serving. They didn't win but they had fun!
And our crazy, fun loving, Juan Carlos promoting sales of his daughter's delicious key lime pies!

We walked!
Friends of ours, Wayne and Chris, are always the push to play beach corn hole. They set of the playing area and make up the draw. It's always a lot of fun!!
Chris and Wayne Our village is ready for corn hole.
We headed over to Las Gatas for a beach afternoon. Some of us took the boat over, and others decided to clamber over the rocks to get there. We were the latter!
We always have such great times in Zihua with our friends from back home! Unfortunately, I have missed quite a few people! But we love you all!
Well, I can see the beach hasn't changed since December...beautiful as always! This is Playa La Ropa, one of many beaches in this area. You could hit a different beach every day of the week and still have a couple more to go!
Our seven week visit with our son and his family is over. We will see them again in April when we have our family vacation at an all-inclusive near Playa Del Carmen. We are now heading back to Zihua for February and March.
PS I have been very lazy with my blog this year, that is why my posts are so late!
Here is a cute picture of Booker, hope it makes your day! Some days he's a policeman, other days he's a fireman doing a dance to the song Thunder Thunder!
Even Australia runs t-ball for kids! And they do a great job of it! They have a ton of parent volunteers! I was surprised because Aussies focus on sports like footie, which is rugby and cricket, which they are crazy about!
Wyatt starts kindergarten this year so we were off to visit his school and see his classroom and meet his teacher! The school has grades from PreK or Kindy as Aussies call it, to Grade 6. There will be two kindergarten classes. Kindergarten is called Pre-Primary. Grade 1 is called Year 1 and so forth.
The schools in Australia are set up differently than Canada. It's all weather related. The Aussie children keep their backpacks outside on boot racks, lots of shade in the playground, and school uniforms which I totally agree with. His classroom is beautiful and spacious. I was quite impressed!
We headed to Kings Park in Perth which is one of the world's largest inner-city parks. It's located on Mount Eliza and offers panoramic views of the city skyline and Swan River, featuring bushland, cultivated gardens, and the state War Memorial. We have been to this park before to see different aspects, but this time our destination was to visit Rio Tinto's Nature Scape. It's designed for all ages but mostly for children. We had a wonderful time!

After our Nature Scape experience we walked through Kings Park to find a restaurant for some lunch. One of the restaurants in the park, and an excellent choice! The food was delicious!
