A Sad Day!

The time has come for us to leave Perth and say goodbye to Jess and Catlin. We had a wonderful time staying with them, and we shared a lot of adventures! See you two crazy kids this summer!

Early Birthday Celebration

My birthday is in the middle of February and we will be in Malaysia by then, so Jess and Catlin treated us to a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant for an early celebration. We had a wonderful evening with a great meal and even better company! Thank you so much Jess and Catlin! It was wonderful to be able to celebrate with you two!

Moonlight Theater in King's Park

King's Park in Perth is one of the world's largest and most beautiful inner city parks. It occupies an area of 4.06 square kilometres, and is a mixture of  grassed parkland, botanical gardens, and natural bushland. King's park plays host to a variety of walking trails, children's playgrounds, ponds, picnic areas, panoramic views, and also an outdoor movie area called Moonlight Theatre where you can sit under the stars, on a beanie bag, and watch a movie!

We had a glorious time, watching the movie, eating popcorn, and sharing with a very friendly duck!

Supper in Northbridge

Northbridge is a lively, popular, and cultural area of Perth where you will find art galleries, museums, hip boutiques, Asian eateries, stylish cocktail lounges, upscale clubs, and casual backpackers bars. The Fringe Festival was going on when we decided to go to this area for supper, so all the pubs, and restaurants were busy. We went to a restaurant called Uncle Billy's Chinese Restaurant and had a delicious meal.

Catlin

During our visit with Catlin and Jess, Catlin had shoulder surgery that went extremely well, and is now on the mend.

Lunar Eclipse

While in Perth we had an awesome view of the lunar eclipse!

Swimming With sea Lions

Catlin booked a trip of the four of us to swim with sea lions during our stay in Jurien Bay. It was an early morning, but well worth it. Our captain was ready to leave from the boat harbour at 8am sharp. It was a short boat ride to a small island that was a nature preserve. Many sea lions and cormorants call this place home. It is unlawful for humans to visit the island on foot but you are allowed to swim in the water and interact with the sea lions...no touching allowed...they are adorable but still wild. The majority of sea lions laid sunning themselves on the beach, while few of the younger, more energetic ones came to visit us. Our captain was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and gave us info we never thought to ask about. On the way back to the boat harbour our captain stopped the boat to check out an octopus.
