The next day we left Augusta and headed north to our next destination. Mammoth Cave is a large limestone cave which is the world's longest known cave system, hence the name. It has 680 km of surveyed passageways, which is nearly twice a long as the second largest cave system in Mexico's Sac Actun underwater cave. Also, extinct animal fossils have been found in this cave.
We took the long path back to the parking lot, and got caught in a bit of rain.
