Road Trip
With a car we have freedom, new sites to see, and new places to go. We headed southeast to a couple of beaches at the opposite end of our regular haunts.
Bridge building, and they are also starting to twin the highway.
San Nicolas is a small town that was once a bustling company town, when Lago Oil and Transport opened its oil refinery in 1924 until 1985, when Exxon Corporation closed it and began to dismantle the facility. In 1991, Coastal Corporation reopened the refinery until 1995. It was then sold to Valero in 2004, and remained open for a number of years, then closed in 2009. In 2016, it was announced that Citgo Petroleum, and the government of Aruba are moving forward with Valero's previously announce program to restart. Good news for Aruba!
