The Hunter Family

Our last stop on this trip was Shaunavan, SK. After we settled into the hotel and had a relax, we drove to the Hunter family farmyard where we were invited for supper. Dusty was busy with harvest, but his wife, Suzanne, was more than gracious and hospitable. Their children and our grandchildren got on splendidly. We had a delicious supper and wonderful conversation.

After dark, we headed into the field where Dusty was so Ziolas could have a short visit. This was very important to them because Dusty played hockey in Melville and stayed at the Ziola household. We got a glimpse into their world, with their many combines going around the field and semis picking up the grain. They have a very big operation!

The next day, we were invited to Lorne and Norma's home, the parents of Dusty and his 4 brothers, for breakfast. It had rained during the night, so harvest was suspended until it dried a bit, which allowed a longer visit with Dusty This family is so wonderfully welcoming and easy to talk to. Lorne and Norma have raised strong, independant, family-minded boys. They are also a very musical family. The boys have a band called "The Hunter Brothers". If you haven't heard of them, google them, you'll be surprised at their talent. They are award winning musicians, and very humble about their talent.

What a way to end our trip! Our DIL, Kelsey, did a wonderful job of  researching, planning, and executing this family journey, filled with a lifetime of memories. We are already looking forward to the next one!
