Forest Elf

Jess was invited to a girlfriend's 40th birthday party, and in Australia, 40th birthdays are celebrated with an enchanted forest theme. She bought some items to accompany a green dress I lent her, put it all together, and voila.... her costume turned out great! The party was a smashing success!

Food Truck Fiesta

Every second Friday evening there is a food truck fiesta in park that is a 2-minute walk from Jess and Catlin's home. We took advantage of the food fest, enjoying the beautiful evening, in a beautiful park, eating delicious food and listening to live music. A lovely way to wind down from a busy day!

Scitech

Scitech is an educational, engaging hands-on science centre in Perth focusing on science, technology, enginering, and mathematics(STEM), that offers interactive science experiences for people of all ages. Kaiden was fully engaged and loved every minute that he was there...except for maybe the animatronic dinosaurs...which frightened him!

Here are a few pictures highlighting our Scitech adventure, and seeing the world through a 2 year old's eyes!

                                           Topography sand box...pretty cool!

Construct a building and see how it does in an earthquake.

No so good...but Kaiden thought the collapse of his building was great!

Pizza Night

Pizza night has become a tradition in Catlin and Jess's home. Catlin makes the dough and pizza sauce from scratch, then everyone constructs their own pie, and the final product is baked on the barbeque! Always tasty and delicious, and so much fun!

Catlin and Jess like their pizza Italy style!

I think Kaiden likes his pizza!

Dog Beach

Mullaloo Beach does not allow dogs on the beach, so Catlin and Jess take Caesar to a dog beach which is about a 5-10 minute drive from their house. Today, I went with Catlin and Caesar to the dog beach! Caesar had loads of fun, and totally loves the beach!

AQUA

The Aquarium of Western Australia(AQUA) is a privately owned aquarium in Hillary's Western Australia, a suburb just 10 minutes north of Mullaloo where Jess and Catlin live. AQUA was Australia's largest aquarium when it opened and still possesses Australia's largest single aquarium and walk-through underwater tunnel. We spent half an afternoon taking in the sites of the aquarium which was really quite impressive. I would highly recommend this attraction for both young and old. We had a great afternoon, followed by an ice cream treat!

Kaiden was all eyes while at the aquarium!

The water tunnel was awesome! Sharks, manta rays, sting rays, turtles, and all kinds of fish in varieties of colours in a background of coral.

                                        Large, magnificent manta ray!

Kaiden loved the touch tank. He was thrilled to touch a fish and a starfish.

                                        Family joy!

A lovely view of Hillary's residential area from the aquarium.

There are several rescue turtles that earn their keep by displaying their feeding skills to curious and interested onlookers. After their bodies are healed they will be released back to their natural habitat.
There is nothing like a well deserved ice-cream treat!

                                        Hillary's boat harbour.

Kaiden and Grandpa playing tug of war!
