Fez

Fez, an ancient place, was a major area for scholars, artisans, imams(religious leaders) and gourmands(foodies), which cultivated a historical and cultural lineage. There are more than 70,000 or so people who still choose to live in the craziness of the Medina which is dark, dense and dilapidated and remains the world's largest car-free urban area. Donkey carts can still be seen going up and down narrow alleyways conducting garbage pickup. The Medina is full of charm, aromatic food stands, stooped doorways, and hustles of many kind. Watch your pockets, talk with locals and have a blast! Wow! Fez, you are amazing!

This is our new friend, Rasheed, our tour guide, who is excellent at his job!

We are at the candle shop, and were told to make wishes while holding a burning candle.

                                             The Carpenter Museum

We enjoyed a coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice at this small cafe.

We had our lunch inside the Medina, and Rasheed, our tour guide, surprised Hoss with a birthday cake. The Happy Birthday song was sung and everybody enjoyed a slice of cake! Happy Birthday Hoss! What a special place to celebrate a birthday! One to remember!

With the help of Vicks and mint we  prepared ourselves for the dye tanneries.

Now the selling of leather goods starts. We escaped without purchasing, but it's nice to look!

                                         We viewed a Jewish cemetery,

                                         and another wall!
