Mullaloo Beach

The weather in Perth has been gorgeous, and we have been enjoying Jess and Catlin's backyard and pool. Today, we decided to spend some time at the beach. Mullaloo Beach, which lies on the Indian Ocean, is only a 10 minute walk from Jess and Catlin's house. The beach is long and wide with beautiful white sand and rolling waves. What a great day!

A Fun Day of Eating, Swimming, and Good Company!

Aussie friends came to visit on Sunday. We had a fun afternoon of conversation, merriment, and delicious food!

                              Celine and Jake

Hail Caesar!

Now that Jess and Catlin have a house, their dream of having a dog has been fulfilled! They got themselves a beautiful little male Groodle, which is a Golden Doodle. He is a well mannered, energetic, curious puppy that everyone has come to adore! We have fallen in love with him!

                               Shananigans!

Leggy puppy! He's quite a good swimmer!

Australia!

We arrived in Australia after a long, haul trip, and was greeted by Catlin at the airport, as Jess was at work. We arrived at their new home, and settled in. We absolutely love their home and backyard. Such a great change from the apartment they used to live in.

That's a Wrap!

Our 6 week trip to Zihuatanejo has come to an end. Our time here has been a loads of fun, and very busy. We met up with old friends, and created new ones. We spent our last hours enjoying our favourite beach, Las Gatas, said our goodbyes to fellow travelers, and of course to the locals who made our stay in their beautiful community so wonderful. Thank you Mexico, you feel like home!

This little sweetheart is Brenda. She works at Ketomo which is a small bar. If you are ever in this area look her up. She'll brighten your day!

Our last supper was with these crazy people...so many laughs, my stomach is still hurting!!
Thanks for the great food, Don Memo, which is a restaurant that looks like a church, just down from Brenda's.

Now I'll go home and go on a diet!

Australia is next! February 19, 2019 is travel day.

Scooter For A Day

We spent a few bucks and rented a scooter for the day. It would have been cheaper to rent a car, but what fun would that be?! Vern, from Minnesota, decide to come along with us and be our road captain. We met him in Zihuatanejo and struck up a friendship. He has a scooter and likes to explore the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo area.

                            Vern, our road captain.

There are 2 stories that lie behind these walls. The first one is to stay away because it is bad boy territory, the second is that there is a very nice beach that is quiet and secluded where one could suntan naked.

this road is the old highway that joins Zihua and Ixtapa.

                            We are now in Ixtapa.

Vern showed us a campground that is at the end of Playa Linda.

This road lead us around the the highway that goes to Troncones.

We found a small town, and stopped for a break and some shade.

While meandering around Ixtapa looking for interesting places we found this marvelous condo that is for sale. It is located at the south end of Ixtapa, high up on the cliff.

This gangplank leads to an elevator that takes you to a manmade beach that has a pool.

The view!

The beach and pool

                                                            The condo

After returning to Zihua from Ixtapa, we rode our scooters over to La Ropa.

                                          Zihua Bay

                                           Las Gatas Bay

A view of Playa Larga from the road that that goes from La Ropa to the airport.

                        The beautiful Sierra Madre Mountains

We back tracked our way to the other side of Zihua Bay, closer to where our hotel is to check out the back roads that lead to Villa El Morror where friends have stayed. The views are fabulous, but not the walk. This hotel is a hiker's dream!

If you are walking, these are the stairs you take.

Our day has been great! We were so glad to have rented the scooter, to get a different perspective of this area. Being tired and hot, we found this small, rustic, fish restaurant called Marisqueria Leo, and decided to stop for a beer on our home.
