Bella Vista Boutique Hotel

On the way home from Playa Blanca we stopped at this lovely little hotel to see what it was all about. Sadly, there is no one staying here, but is open and ready for company. It looks like a pool day in the near future! As long as you order food and drink you can hang out at the pool all afternoon! What a deal!

The Road Home

Zihua is a short 20 minute trip home from Barra de Potosi, riding slowly while trying to catch some of the sites.

                                           Palm plantation

Stopped here to check out this place and the beach.

It's currently the dry season so the grass is brown, and many trees have lost their leaves but are now flowering.

                                          The cacti are thriving!

Casa del Encanto- A Funky Bed and Breakfast in Barra de Potosi

While in Barra de Potosi, we discovered a quaint, and interesting BandB. The woman who owns the accommodation has been in Potosi for 3 decades.

You can rent bicycles for a quicker way to see the sites.

Barra de Potosi

Barra de Potosi is a small fishing village which lies about 20km south of Zihuatanejo. It is situated on the banks of Laguna Potosi, and the village consists of a few interesting streets and buildings. It's a tourist destination for day trips from local communities, including Zihua and Ixtapa. Kayaking in the lagoon is a big hit, with wonderful sights of flora and fauna. The surrounding ecosystem covers 800 hectares with half of that area being mangroves. Fishing trips are also available for anyone interested. The beach, Playa Blanca, is vast, stretching along the coast for many kilometres. It is definitely worth seeing, if only for a drink and a meal.

Scooter Tour

With our little scooter, we toured around Zihua and Ixtapa.

                                            Ixtapa's beach Playa el Palmar

This is one of many turtle camps where the eggs are relocated for a safe haven, situated on the beach beside the Barcello.

The ride home on the old road from Ixtapa to Zihua.
