We arrived in Drumheller, settled into our hotel then visited the Royal Tyrrell Museum the next day. Max wasn't so sure he wanted to enter after he saw the life sized scary beasts, but after a bit of encouraging he braved up and walked in.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum is the only museum in Canada exclusively dedicated to the study of ancient life, and features the world's largest display of dinosaurs. It's very educational, creative and fun.

We stopped briefly in Kindersley to visit a good friend of Kelsey and Addison's, and then carried on to Drumheller.

Our first stop was an indoor playground with apparatuses of all sorts. The grandkids could jump, slide, climb, crawl, roll, eat, drink while parents and grandparents supervise and watch their shenanigans! It's a great place for kids to burn off some energy for a very reasonable cost!
Friends of ours from Edmonton, Jim and Tanya, who we met in Australia in 2015, came for their annual visit to Crooked Lake. The weather wasn't conducive for boating, so we took a tour through the valley. The valley was gouged out from glacial meltwaters and stretches across half of Saskatchewan.
Qu'appelle Valley consists of 6 lakes. They start at the west end with Pasqua Lake, then Echo Lake, Mission Lake, Katepwa Lake, Crooked Lake, and Round Lake with the Qu'appelle River joining them all.

The Motherwell Museum
I worked a summer during university as a labourer along with others for 3 archeologists who were hired by the government to turn this site into a museum. We learned a lot about archeology digs, categorizing artifacts, and sharpening our trowels. It was interesting work that paid well for a post secondary student.
