Club M

We have found a little hole in the rock (literally) to have a beer or meal.

Our Secret Beach

This beach never gets old! It's a bit out of the way, and you need wheels to get there, but its worth it. Quiet and secluded!

Daniel's

Our favourite waiter works at Daniels. He is a true gentleman, who is kind and funny!

Zihua Development

There have been huge improvements to this small city. Fisherman's walk has had a major update. Construction is on the rise, and cleanup has improved. But hopefully, Zihua doesn't lose its traditional feel, quaintness and hospitality!

There were so many iguanas that I couldn't get them all in the same frame.

Mornings at the Market

The best way to pick up your fruits, veggies and meat is at the market. We usually go in the morning before the heat the day arrives. You literally can get everything you need at this market... from a stitch job to a plumbing piece, spices galore, a ready made meal, a smoothy, a tasty coffee, or a visit with a Mexican buddy that owns a shop and drags you in for a beer. I bought one of my favourite dresses here! We love this place, and we shop here daily!

Barra de Potosi

Barra is a small village 20 minutes from Zihua. It's very quiet, and a great place for a meal, a beer or two, kayaking the mangroves, or a bit of shopping.

Fishing Hole Too

Here we are having a great visit with Zihua friends.

Shimia

One of our favourite places to eat in Zihua is a small restaurant called Shimia, run by an Italian couple. The food and service rise above other restaurants. The menu is small but every dish is delicious!

Day of the Dead

We missed Day of the Dead, but the decorations for the celebration honouring family members that have died were still up.

Vancouver...After the Long Flight Back to Canada

We spent one night in Vancouver before heading south to Zihua, and of course we ate dinner at our favourite restaurant, the Cactus Club Cafe.

We have never been disappointed with our meals....or the wine!

Good-Bye Australia

Our time in Mullaloo has come to an end. We will miss Catlin and Jess and the grandkids tremendously and look forward to summer of 2025 when they will be home for close to a month.

Hello Zihua...we will see you shortly!

Booker's Birthday

We celebrated Booker's 2nd birthday a week early. Friends of Catlin and Jess, who are expecting their first child, came over to participate in the celebration!

Halloween Fun

Halloween is similar in Australia as it is in Canada, but not with so much fan fair. The kids carved pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns, dressed up in costumes and went into a neighbourhood that participated in the handing out of candy. Homeowners sat outside with baskets of candies and adult beverages in hand, enjoying the comings and goings of each group of children. Parents and grandparents, many in costume, walked behind their kids with their own refreshments. We had a lot of fun!
