Small Shop Owner

We have been patrons of this small shop for a few years now. I am a big fan of coconut water. I usually buy two bags a couple times a week. The owner is very funny, and he always makes me laugh.

Carnitas

This is one of our favourite places to buy cooked pork. It's soooo delicious! Hard working, friendly people operate this shop. The chef is up at 3:30am every morning to get the pork going.

Santa Prisca

Every Thursday is pozoli day, a traditional soup in Mexico. We headed to a restaurant called Santa Prisca, which specializes in pozoli. It was a lively afternoon with great food, music, dancing and friends!

Pickleball Fun!

Hoss entered men's doubles in a pickleball tournament in Ixtapa at Emanuel's new courts, which are fabulous! Hoss and Al won 2nd place! Quite exciting, a fun tournament with food and drinks!

Haha! They won silver medals, and a stuffed potato from Papas Loco.

Onto Morelia, Michoacan

Morelia is a very large city, and we chose to stay in Old Town. The traffic was bizarre because many streets were blocked off due to a religious function that was held on the main street adjacent from the church and our hotel.

An outdoor hockey rink!! With temperature reaching 26 degrees Celcius. Our grandkids could skate around in their bathingsuits.

Well, that's a rap! Our week long journey to Copper Town, Patzcuaro, San Miguel, and Morelia has come to an end. We had a great time, and now our little traveling troop looks forward to next year's trip, a destination still unknown.

La Grutta of San Miguel

We spent half a day at La Grutta which is a beautiful area just outside San Miguel that has many pools of varying temperatures, and lovely areas to sit and relax. I forgot to bring a bathing suit, but that certainly wasn't a problem, because there was a small shop to purchase one. And if you became hungry or thirsty, there were waiters willing to bring you food and drink.

There was one pool I wasn't too crazy about. It was located in a dark cave where the water was quite hot and the air was very steamy. The guys enjoyed it though.

Artisan Market in San Miguel

We headed to the artisan market seeking beautiful handmade products.

This is a hotel located just outside the market. I wonder who had task of hanging all the suns??

The Sites of San Miguel

 San Miguel is beautiful.

Claude, Lynne, Tim, Ann, Hoss, Crystal, and the new guy is Doug.

We met up with Doug, a buddy of Claude's, who's from Weyburn, and has been living in Mexico for 25 years. We had a nice lunch.
