We spent an evening at Coconutz, had a barbeque dinner and danced to the music of The Leatherbacks. I feel like a groupie!! This is the third time we have seen them in 2 weeks! They really are quite good!!

The Beach
Playa Del Coco is housed in a bay. The surf is minimal, the water is warm, and the sand is black...not my favourite...I much prefer white sand! The weather is hot and dry, with today's temperature reaching 36 degrees Celsius. Too hot for me!! But, the mornings and evenings are lovely!!
Many beach houses line the shore.
We saw dozens of these puff fish washed up on shore.
We counted 4 shrimp boats in the bay.

Casa Margarita Accommodations, Playa Del Coco. Costa Rica
Our move took us up the Costa Rican coast about 90 minutes north to the small beach town of Playa Del Coco. We are in a residential area that is about two blocks from the beach, and a ten minute walk to town. We are in a small main level apartment at the back of our AirBnB host's home. There is another small apartment on the other side of the house. It is nice to have a bit more space!

...And Another Goodbye!
I have mixed feelings today because we are moving up the coast to Playa del Coco. I am excited about a new adventure, but know I will miss all the friendships we have built during our time at La Botella Leche Hostel. It was a great place to stay and we recommend it highly to everyone young and old! We say our goodbyes, tote our backpacks into the trunk of the cab, and head towards Playa Coco! Moving day!!

Another goodbye!
We have had a great time with friends who came to Costa Rica for a quick vacation!!
Wanda, Gerry, Lisa, and Bob...we will miss you dearly!! We had so many laughs together!!
It's always sad to say good bye, so we will say... see you later, safe travels, and take care!

Road Trip
Playa del Coco seemed like a good place to go for the day, so we hopped in the car and drove northwards towards that location. Of course the roads in Costa Rica are not always first world, heck, the roads in Saskatchewan aren't always first world(there are just too many darn roads in Skratch to keep maintained!!). It certainly keeps the trip interesting!! We had loads of fun!
The highway seems to always start off pretty good, and after awhile it turns into a dirt road that gets rougher with each kilometer, and then you come across a small river. This has happened to us before in Costa Rica when we were with Norm and Marie Soulsby when we drove to Samara, but the water crossing was wider and a bit deeper!! It always a "yikes" moment!
In Playa del Coco, Wanda bought a delicious mango snack from a vendor on the street.
Wanda got the works, with 3 different hot sauces and spices.
A small promenade in Playa del Coco.
Off to cool down with a couple of cool ones!
A fun time at Zi Lounge.
We stopped at this roadside restaurant....
... and Hoss and Gerry had a shot of tequila that was hot...not spicey hot, but temperature hot from the bottle just sitting on the shelf in the bar! Too funny!!
The roadside restaurant had funky looking chickens!
This one's a beauty!
Young mangoes.
